It's
the astronomy, stupid!Red light??
A Red flashlight will do a good job in the dark to let us read our star maps
or find and change equipment at our telescopes without dropping things. Red
light therefore, because it does not hurt our night vision.
The "Red Light Group" is a Group of five enthusiastic amateur astronomers from the Dutch region of Veluwe - Salland - Twente, which gathers at clear nights, equipped with telescopes and cameras, to enjoy, observe and picture the night sky. Of course other observers are invited as well. We focus on both visual observation and astrophotography.
We do not own a fixed observing field. We choose appropriate locations for each observing session again.
Why five? We would like to remain a nice and managable little club, so not
to turn into a large association with all the fuss within. Though, we do not
hesitate to cooperate with other amateur astronomers. We love practical meetings
and excursions, especially at night! "Class rather than mass" is our
slogan.
